These BenchPro benches are constructed of 2" x 2", 16 gauge tubular steel legs and a 1" x 2", 16 gauge tubular steel apron. These benches can withstand loads of up to 5,000 pounds of evenly distributed weight, making BenchPro workbenches some of the strongest, most reliable benches on the market today.
The surface of BenchPro butcher block workbenches are constructed of 1¾" strips of maple hardwood. These benches do not have a particle board center, but are solid maple throughout.
To prevent warpage or splitting, wood used for BenchPro tables is died in a low-heat atmosphere for almost one year before being cut into strips and glued edge-to-edge. The hardwood strips vary in width, so that some strips are single and some are double-wide, this gives the tops added strength while reducing the possibility of the top splitting along its seams. BenchPro's butcher block tables have an oiled finish which is generally best for production and high-use areas, as they can be resurfaced easily and minor damage does not affect the apperance.
BenchPro workbenches are some of the easiest benches to assemble! The top and apron is factory assembled and welded for stability and ease, and the legs bolt to the worksurface with two bolts each. Accessory uprights can be added and shelves and other upright accessories lock quickly into the uprights.
Standard table height is 30" when using a regular office chair, and 36" is counter-height and usually used with a "bench-height" chair. BenchPro will cut the height of their benches to any specified size for free, so no matter what height you need or prefer, we can supply it easily. BenchPro also offers custom paint colors, along with their standard options. Standard color options are free of charge, while custom color options will add an additional $60 for laminates, and $90 for frame colors.
