As soon as the soldering iron is left on the stand, the tip temperature
automatically drops to 430 °F and can be programmed down to 190 °F ,
reducing tip oxidation and extending tip life three to five times longer than
that of a conventional tip. When the soldering iron is taken out of the stand
again, the tip temperature is instantaneously recovered.
