Cleanroom Tables

Terra Universal Logo

Terra Universal manufactures the most advanced lines of electropolished 304/316 stainless steel work benches available for high-technology cleanrooms. For the cleanest tables, order BioSafe® rod-top or perforated-top work stations with easy-to-clean surfaces; fewer laminar flow air obstructions, and decreased accumulation of contaminating particles. Nylon leveling feet resist broad range of chemicals and eliminate wobbles for high-precision work. Learn More.

Eagle Group Logo

Eagle cleanroom tables are made from type 304 stainless steel. All Eagle cleanroom tables are alcohol wiped and cleanroom bagged.

Metro Shelving Logo Metro Shelving Logo

Metro cleanroom tables are constructed with type 304 stainless steel HD Super™ posts. They are shipped knocked down to minimize freight charges.

QuietTop™ design features 0.25" (6mm) diameter rods that 'float' on non-outgassing elastomer to minimize noise and vibration (Figure A). Eagle tops are made from 14-gauge, type 304 stainless steel. Perforated tops have 0.75" (19mm) perforations on 1" (25mm) centers, allowing for 40% laminar flow. Metro perforated tops are made from 14-gauge, type 304 stainless steel and have 0.75" (19mm) perforations on 1" (25mm) centers, providing 35% open area.

Why is Electropolishing Critical?

Electropolishing removes iron and other surface impurities that cause corrosion. The process draws chromium and nickel to form a hard, protective finish, and removes irregularities, like pits or burs, for an ultra-smooth surface that's easy to clean. Learn More.

Rods or Perforations?

Both rod and perforated tops are designed to optimize the vertical laminar flow of particle-free air inside a cleanroom. From that point of view, both are superior to solid tops, which block air flow and create significant turbulence both above and below the work surface.

Rod Top Work Surface Turbulence

Rods create virtually no turbulence, but their open structure leaves little space to support small tools and parts. To solve this problem, Terra offers clip-on equipment mounts. Terra's standard QuietTop™ design uses 0.25" (6 mm) diameter rods on 1" (25 mm) centers. Other rod sizes and configurations are available.

Perf Top Work Surface Turbulence

Perforations provide more surface area for supporting parts, but they do generate some turbulence in the gaps between the cut-outs. Terra's standard OpenTop™ perforations have a 0.25" (6 mm) diameter and open up 40% of the total benchtop for the air flow. Other hole patterns and sizes are available.

Advantages of Terra Universal BioSafe® Tables

Terra Universal's advanced technology, factory-assembled benches incorporate contamination-control designs and materials you won't find elsewhere.

Elastomer Potting

Terra Universal QuietTop™ Rod Top
Elastomer "potting" eliminates welds around rods, dampens vibration and eliminates particle traps!

Welded Rod Top

Conventional Design
Conventional welds trap particles and amplify noise and vibrations.

OpenTop™ Hidden Reinforcements

Terra Universal OpenTop™ Perforated Top
Hidden reinforcements minimize dead spots, add strength, and eliminate deflection bounce-back ('oilcan effect') without dead spaces.

Blank Out Support Panels

Conventional Design
Conventional perforated tops rely on "blank out" support panels, which create turbulence in a cleanroom laminar flow.

One-Piece Bullnose Edge

Terra Universal Bullnose Front Edge
Standard on all QuietTop™ models, Terra's one-piece bullnose enhances worker comfort while optimizing vertical laminar airflow - without welds or cracks.

Table Edge with Cracks

Conventional Design
Crimped edges leave cracks where particles collect. Welded bullnose harbors contaminants; sharp bottom angle creates turbulence.

Rod Top Cord Pass-Thru

Power cord pass-through is standard on all rod tops.
