Vertical Laminar Flow Benches

Vertical laminar flow bench in a cleanroom

Featuring laminar flow benches from the innovators; IAC (formerly Isle) workbenches as well as the our highly customizable, value-priced CleanPro® brand.

Vertical laminar flow hoods resemble a smaller scale design of a laminar flow cleanroom where the fan/filter units are located on the ceiling. When the laminar flow is directed downward, vertical laminar flow reinforces the effect of gravity, sweeping the particles out through the front access area. The vertical flow helps get the micro-contaminants to settle on a work surface or floor, faster.

Because the fan filter module is stacked on top of the hood, a vertical laminar flow hood can generally be installed on a standard bench and is ideal for areas where floor space is valuable. Our CleanPro® brand of vertical laminar flow benches have three general work surface configurations, open base, wash out and wash through.

How it Works
Room air enters the system from above, and passes through the HEPA filter. The 99.9% particle-free air is then forced downward toward the work surface.

Benefits of Vertical Laminar Flow Workstations
  • • The shallower hood requires less floor space.
  • • Ideal for compounding sterile products.
  • • The sash provides a barrier in front of the operators face, so the air isn't blowing directly at them.
  • • Filter on top for easy access.
  • • Less turbulent effect from the air hitting objects or processing equipment.
  • • Less cross-contamination of items on the worksurface.
