R-Series Workbench with ESD Laminate

Built-In ESD Protection

BUILT RIGHT ESD workbenches include two mounted wrist strap jacks. Two grounding wires are also provided to ground the frame to ground or an adjoining workbench. To guarantee a static-free work area, all ESD work surfaces have laminated edges using the same static control laminate as used on the top, while the underside of the work surface has a laminated solid aluminum sheet.

ESD Paint Upgrade Available

ESD paint is available as an upgrade on ESD workbenches with ESD laminate tops and tubular or folded-steel frames. With this upgrade, the entire steel structure is finished with a static-dissipative coating rated at 10⁶ to <10⁹ ohms to ground, meeting the ANSI/ESD S4.1 recommended dissipative range for worksurfaces and complying with ANSI/ESD S20.20 requirement of <1x10⁹ ohms RtG. To order, select the ESD paint option under Frame Color when configuring your bench.

ESD Maintenance

Always clean ESD work surfaces with ammoniated detergent, rinsing with clear water. Do not use wax or anything that can leave a coating on the laminate, as these may adversely affect or modify its resistance properties.

Easy Assembly

BUILT RIGHT workbenches assemble easily in minutes. The top and apron are factory assembled and welded for stability, and the legs bolt to the worksurface with one strong bolt per leg. Hundreds of optional accessories can be utilized by attaching uprights to your work bench.

1. Place the unopened box on a small table with the seam tape facing up. Open the box, leaving the cardboard underneath. Separate out the interior packaging.

2. Locate the bag of fasteners (attached to one screw under the top). Insert one glide through the threaded hole in the bottom of the legs. Put the nut on the end of the inserted glide. Do not tighten yet.

3. Find the front side of the legs and top (labeled front). Place the top of the leg frame holes over the elevated screw heads, and slide the base so the screw shafts slide into the slot. Tighten the screws.

4. The front of the legs have 1/4" holes. The back side of each leg has 4 smaller, threaded holes. Position the back bar over the threaded holes, insert screws and tighten (there are no lock washers or nuts required here).

5. Turn the work bench over, and adjust the glides until level. Now tighten the nuts on the glides.
